Cool. You'll have an awesome survival combo and shooting targets with a 38 round is a pretty cheap way to practice with it.

I saw some 357 rounds with BB projectiles. Not sure how or if they would feed through the Marlin's magazine, but it would make a great little rabbit shot if your willing to eat around the pellets.

One thing I love and hate about being on a Marine Corps base, especially a combat oriented one like this one, is the well stocked camping/tactical section at the base exchange.

I could go broke quick shopping there.

That has got to be tough, guy-toys can get expensive, especially when it's easy to convince yourself you need it

So I have the Marlin 1894c ( in .357/.38 ) on the way, pretty stoked

dang you move quick.. you picked the right time to buy because 3 months ago they were hard to find. think they pushed a lot on the market just before deer season kicked in though.

been wanting one for years now so im excited for you.

Yeah, i was looking at lever guns, just because Ive always liked the, same with revolvers, just something about them, and wanted a marlin 336 ( 30-30) but I'm not a hunter, just wanted something fun to shoot and would be handy in a hypothetical survival situation. Lazi mentioned the 1894, kinda did it right there for me. Fairly inexpensive to practice with and can shoot .357

Hehe, yeah, I found one in stock and went for it, called around locally for a used one but none to be found. Looking at older prices, it's crazy how much all gun prices have gone up since even 2008

Marlin makes a great lever action. I've had a couple, and wish I had back the one I sold many years ago.

And thanks for the push in that direction Lazi, glad I stopped by here the other day for that bit of advice

The one I sold was an 1984 .44 Magnum. I was just getting started in married life, money was tight and I had another deer rifle.

Hindsight is 20/20, I sure wish I had it back.

tell me about it... I blew a lot of money from 05-08 on various stuff. I wish I had been thinking about guns at the time. seeing posts online about marlins at wally for $320. guns was in my system back then but just not on my mind.
