Ours gets around 17 mpg. My wife has a terrible lead foot.

I can drive it and get 20 mpg all day long, but I baby it.

I only have about 5 miles driveway to driveway, so my old truck doesn't hurt me too bad by getting 14 mpg. But I'd hate to drive it as far as my wife does. Then again, I wouldn't mind having something to drive that got 30+ mpg.

Ole Grumpybutt uses about $100/week. Close to a third of her pay goes to gas. I say it would pay for her to work here at a lower-paying job instead of commuting daily.

Mine makes a little over $10/hour, and I feel the same way, especially when she comes home crying because work is so rough.

She does work 40 hours a week, plus a little overtime, but it's not worth it.

Mine does customer service for a company that contracts to AT&T Wireless. It's a horrible job. She has to read off a script, which isn't so bad, but she also has to sell tv and internet packages to people that call in about wireless problems. She comes home in tears every day. If she doesn't sell so many, she gets wrote up and after 4 writeups, it's termination.

She manages to sell a couple here and there, but hasn't lately. I figure she'll get the axe soon. At least she can draw unemployment for a while, since she's not at fault.
