I don't know how the cost of certain items differ between Canada and the US, but It is a shame that you live so close and can't get across the border without being hassled so much.

Nexus card? Is that like an "I'm an OK guy, you can let me pass" card? joint US/Canadian government border travelers card Funniest border story Just after my first flight to the uS, my wife and i decided to go to Seattle for the weekend. i was working afternoons so by the time I got home, changed, ate and such we didn't hit the border until about 3AM. We drive up to the booth and no one is there, we wait for about 5 minutes nothing. We don't know what to do, we can't move forward, can't move back. Then we see a door open inside the building and a head pop out, the door then closes. The door opens back up and the guy is adjusting his belt as he walks through the front door. Comes to the passenger side window, asks us what we are doing, then he tells us to go ahead. He then turns around and heads back in, my wife swears he was unbuckling his belt again before he hit the door We think we caught him short

Earlier you talked about having a passport. That is something I have never had. While I was in the Military one wasn't required for the places I went to. Even going to and from Japan as long as I had a copy of my leave form I was good to go. Going on Temporary duty to Korea was also no problem, I was on official orders and always flew military transport.

I'll tell you, I don't see how folks can afford these new vehicles. Heck, most of them cost more than We make in a year! To me, there is just something wrong with paying more for a vehicle than you paid for your house!

I can't say I have never made fun of foreigners. I am not proud of it but I have. BUT those I was making fun of are the Illegals, not those that legally come into this country. THOSE folks, I don't have ANY problem with being here. Only the Illegals. I am all for good natured insults and ribbing and as far as i am concerned illegals should not be entitled to the same respect that legal visitors/imigrants should get. If you visit my country I expect you to follow our rule of law and you should expect the same from me. Illegals do not follow my countries rule of law the moment they enter here illegally, I am sorry but I have a problem with that

when i was a kid we visited my aunt in Washington state about once a month, half the time id wasn't asked for even until 3 or 4 years ago a driver's liscence was all you needed to show to enter the US

You know one thing I found being in the Military and serving in other countries, We as U.S. citizens most of the time don't consider the fact that if we ever enter another country or another countries possession, WE are the Foreigners! We (the U.S.) tend to gauge the rest of the world by OUR ideals, something that cannot be done. Many of us, unfortunately HAVE become the Ugly American!
