Tires can make quite a bit of difference, but a lot also has to do with driving WITH YOUR BRAIN ENGAGED!

at least they set up roadblocks leading to the interior and fine and/or turn people around that dont have proper winter tires

I remember when I was a kid seeing signs like that when My folks and I were vacationing in the Rockies out west.

Once you get out of the lower mainland you get real winter weather.

One year while I was gone they got either 22 or 22 inches of snow within a 24 hour time period. Now Mom and Dad only live 1 mile from where Dad worked before he retired (in '94). The road was as straight as an arrow and as flat as a board. He had a 4x4 pickup and JUST barely made it home from work after they realized it was going to be a BAD snow. They were stuck at home for either 3 or 4 days.

It does that to me sometimes too, and it takes (for me) four posts on a new page before it will show up on the page count.

Having a winter kit would be especially important up in your area. I mean we get winter weather here, but it doesn't linger like it does up there.
