I used to use cocktail sauce all the time, but here the last few years I have been forgoing it. It masks the taste that I eat the shrimp for.

I put it on all shellfish, just out of habit. When we do shrimp at home, I make my own cocktail sauce out of horseradish and ketchup, plus a few other things. I like it hotter than what you get in the restaurants.

My favorite is fried oysters, I can't get enough of them!

But don't believe that old wives tale about oysters being good for your sex life. It ain't true.

Haha, when I use any sauce like that at home (usually on fish sticks) I mix ketchup and spicy brown mustard. Not a bad mixture. Tastes close to cocktail sauce but not as twangy.
