The biggest thing they warned about was if it needed water was to not use chlorinated water. They say it won't work with chlorinated water. It keeps it from reaching the acidic levels needed for preservation.

I have been reading a bunch on bushcraft and older ways of doing things. Some of the bushcraft stuff was way above what I have a need for but it was interesting to know.

Yeah, some stuff is just plain old good enjoyable stuff to read and file back in the gray matter in case it is ever needed for anything or by anyone.
