I have been lucky. I have walked up on a few. They just looked at me and I moved on.

We have pines and Aspen. The only thing that drops branches faster is cottonwoods. I didn't lose a thing. But I think if it had been higher sustained and not just gusts we would have had problems.
Wind blowing through jack pines can be scarring

Moose can be dangerous period. We didn't have many until recently. Now we have a few Moose. But they have a huge range here. They move around alot.
One just about killed my wife's great uncle a few years ago while he was working his trapline.
Only hiding under a large log stopped him from being stomped to death.
As it was he had broken ribs, punctured lungs and some other injuries

Dang!

Seems like it's calming down some out there, can't hear the wind blowing now like we could before.

He managed to crawl to his skidoo and drive to the highway and pass out.
One of his friends found him and called an ambulance, his was in hospital for over a week

I thought i was going to get tore up by a Cow with a calf while Kayaking. She was stomping her foot. But it turned out she was aggravated by someone taking a photo 100 yards away. SHe never paid attention to me as long as I was in the water.

Years ago on opening day of deer season (early September) I crossed paths with a very nasty bull (cow) on crown land.
Eventually I had to climb a tree, I was almost at the point of shooting him when he left

I like to watch them. If we had more I would like to try one for dinner. I hear they taste good. Some say better than Elk.
