All the owl talk reminds of a a time one of my friends got bit by an owl. All things considered it was pretty darned funny.

Bit by an owl? That could get really funny, what happened?

Bit by an Owl. Now THAT would be a story worth hearing!

Man that is a small Owl! Any yeah, we both think the Barn Owl is one of the prettier ones.

Well, I will give you the short version. I had been out for a while hunting Elk in the high country. The previous night my friend starts talking about nighthawks and catching by hand when they were on the ground.

Well we are coming down a mountain side in a bunch of scree at night. Sure enough it looks like a nighthawk is sitting amongst the rocks right beside us. Well he decides to show us his technique for catching a nighthawk. keep in mind we have the light from a crescent moon.

He reaches down really slow and the head pops up and its a really small owl. probabaly a pygmy mountain owl or a really small screech owl. It reaches up before he can touch it an bites his finger and holds on. He draws his hand back but its too late and its not letting go. He is trying to shake it off and dancing around trying to keep his balance in the scree on a healthy incline. The thing finally lets go and just flys off. My other friend and I are sitting on our butts laughing because there was no way we could stand up and keep our balance because we were laughing so hard.

Apparently owls bite really hard. Even small ones.

Haha, It's stories like that one that give you a sense of companionship and much needed relief from the stress in our lives.

We always have fun and see interesting stuff. I'm not sure if that was his funniest moment or the time he set himself on fire.

Ok, NEXT story!

haha, that could be like the time I set my pants on fire. Was in the front seat of a car, propped my feet on the dash, grabbed my lighter and... Oh did you know that REAL natural gas will burn! Yes, alcohol WAS involved. But I still had to throw away my white pants.

I am getting ready to head to work. If you happen to be on tonight I will tell you the story if you remind me. It has forever included the phrase. "Oh' that can't be good" into my venacular.
