I have been in a couple deserts camping the last few days. Here are the images. Yours truly in Dixie National Forest New Year's Eve. Got my fireworks already going. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/10-2.jpg) Got there early enough to do some bicycling and saw some pretty sweet stuff. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/8-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/11-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/13-1.jpg) Decided to play with some slow shutter speeds at Leeds Creek. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/6-3.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/4-2.jpg) Took some water from Leeds. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/9-2.jpg) Campsite for the first night. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/3-4.jpg) Close up of red Cliff. ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/15-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1008.photobucket.com]](http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/2-5.jpg) [img] http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/7-2.jpg[/img] Somewhere in the Mojave. [img] http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/12-1.jpg[/img] The 6.5 Reg. isn't the best chopper, but it got the job done. It was 60F when I go to the campsite, but I knew the high desert gets cold quick, so I gathered a lot of wood for the night so I could enjoy the clear skies in comfort. It ended up hitting 12F that night. [img] http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af208/mediaperture/5-3.jpg[/img]

P.S. Dan. I have copy written the name "Feral Dog." You are welcome to use it for a future knife design's name, but I require a royalty of one of said knives. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Looks like you had a peaceful relaxing quiet place to camp JJ. How many nights did you spend camping out before you got to 29 palms?

I have two places in mind for the trip home. Opposite direction, so I can pick just one. Grand Canyon or the Sequoia Forest. Both are a little out of the way in either direction, but both are worth it.

Hum... I've been to the Grand Canyon, nice scenery. Never heard anything about the other one.

I am thinking both will have empty areas this time of year. I have been to the Canyons before, but the Redwoods I haven't seen yet.
