I emptied my pockets in the squad bay after class today and a few noticed my EDC stuff. Suddenly my foot locker looked like a pawn shop display with little groups of stuff bunched up on it showing off the different EDC items of five or six Marines in my platoon. There was everything from watches to pocket packs of detal floss (that guy's dad is a dentist). It made me curious of what you all carry. Here's my pocket junk. Rugby II shock and water proof cell (personal line). Blackberry Bold (issued phone with encryption to get classified emails and such). My dad's old wallet I have had since I was 18 (I'm 35 now). Casio G-Shock MTG-1100B (atomic time multi band 5, tough solar, and a plethora of features - stopwatch, timer, calendar etc etc). Leatherman Skeletool. Keys with cheap LED AAA battery flashlight. Most importantly - a Calf skin leather bound pocket United States Constitution (includes the entire Bill of Rights to date, and many related documents like the Virginia Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, Articles of the Confederation, etc, all written in original text. i.e. Defense is spelled defence and choose is spelled chuse). The reason I think is the most important item is because I have said the following words when I enlisted and again when I reenlisted in front of many people I respect and trust, "I, Warren Peace, do solemnly affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same ..." If I am going to defend a set of ideas with my life (thankfully it hasn't come to that), I want to be sure I fully understand those ideas. I will stop rambling now... So, what's in your pocket?

On my key ring have a key to my truck, a key to my house, one each Phillips and flathead bits from County Comm, an inova led light, and a dog tag for nostalgia purposes. I carry a spyderco pacific salt most of the time as my edc pocket knife. My wallet is one I bought while I was still in Hawaii ten years ago, it's sting ray and will last for the rest if my life. A cheap watch and cell phone.
The only things that change are my knife, and sometimes I have my S&W 325PD (no firearms in the refinery).
Great thread, Warren!

Great thread, Warren! I didn't include my firearm because I am in a state that violates the First Amendment> I usually carry a Glock 21 gen 4 with an extra mag.

Foreign and domestic...that could get politically charged. Our demise will come from the inside. Increasingly, I have been scrutinizing the U.S. government's actions. I am satisfied with what we are doing to an extent. But, don't think I am brain washed. I will protect our forefathers' ideas with my life.

I gavre it to him years ago on a trip we took to germany. We went over the borders into switzerland and i bought it or him. but I haven't been able to take it off his dresser yet since he passed. Someday maybe.

I do envy you Americans with your Constitution In Canada we had the old BNA Act which was a good document, then we had a clueless Prime Minister that decided to put his name in history by bringing the constitution home. This 1982 piece of political correctness was the result. My brothers stay strong in your belief that your Constitution is yours and not your governments

Yote, many of us take for granted our "Rights". It is hard sometimes to understand until you have lived in another country that is more stringent than our own, with different laws and ways of thinking.
Oh and I carry a bunch of stuff in my pockets. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I did take it out at Christmas though, the whole family would call to Pop for his sak, to open any stubborn gifts or wrappings. Thanks again.

Thanks for posting pics, VANCE. I plan on going back and editing my post with some pics as soon as I get a chance. It would be neat to see what kind of stuff everyone carries in their pockets everyday.

Skunk, whats that red key chain thing? That's a key chain fob that a former member of our church made. If you look at it just right, BETWEEN the spaces is spells JESUS. It's stainless steel that has been powder coated, so it should last longer than I will!

Skunk, that's awesome! It's not my birthstone but I enjoy neat looking rocks. I saw this one and made enough of a fuss over it that my wife bought it for me. Sometimes I'll wear a New Zealand greenstone instead.

Nice stuff!
I have tried everything but a Smith and Wesson M&P and I would like to try one of those with a complete Apex trigger set up.
If I like that I would maybe sell some of my pistols and convert to all of that flavor.
If I don't like the M&P I will just go all Glock...26, 19 and maybe a 34.

Well, besides the XDM and the S5LE (IWB Crossbreed Holster and on the belt, respectively) everything else does fit in the pockets.

We're making progress slowly but surely. I work health informatics right now at a medium sized (50+ docs) FQHC. So, it puts me n front of the right people and gets me valuable experience. It's funny, I deal with some of the people who are decision makers in the hospitals we've pitched to. I try to keep my business and my salaried job separate, but it's a small world.

I carry a Ruger LCP and HK45 Compact Tactical daily. The LCP has a KelTec clip on it, and the HK45CT rides in a G-Code kydex holster with a G-Code kydex double spare mag pouch (with 10rd mags). I also keep this along with a Personal Survival Kit in my work backpack: The contents of the PSK: If anyone is interested and I start a thread about the contents. In my pockets I have: House & Work Keys Titanium D-Ring SUV Keys Wenger Highlander SAK Light My Fire Scout Model Ferro Rod Zero Tolerance 350 DLC Zip Drive Leatherman S3 Serac LED Flashlight Wallet Spare Ruger LCP Mag ...but... As the old timers around here know...I'm a gear nerd.

After posting the above it occurred to me that I carry:
FIVE knives (two fixed blade, one folding blade and two SAK) TWO handguns THREE flashlights (Streamlight Nano, Leatherman S3 and Cheap AA LED ...to be replaced with a Maratac AA) FOUR firestarters (three ferro rods and one lighter) TWO knife sharpeners
Well at least I heed my own advice and follow the survivor's redundancy mantra:
Three is two. Two is one. One is none.

Almost forgot...
I also carry with me (everywhere):
* iPhone in a military Otterbox Case * 32oz Nalgene bottle * Eco-Drive watch
No wonder I'm tired at the end of the day.

Dang. That is quite a bit. i would love to get an HK45. I shot my friend's a couple years ago and it is so smooth. Of course, I love HKs period and would love to get an HK USP .40, but the 45 is so comfortable for my hand also. *sigh* As an alternative, I've been eyeing the FNX .40, anyone have experience with those? I've read good reviews.

My current handguns are:
Glock 17 Glock 19 HK45 Compact Tactical HK USP45 HK USP Compact 40 Les Bear Custom Carry Les Baer SRP 1.5" Guarantee Ruger LCP
I can't comment on the FNX, but I've read mixed reviews online. I've owned just about every other conceivable carry gun and I've narrowed my "I trust my life to this gun" down to primarily Glock and HK.
If I were you, I'd save for a HK45 or HK45C. Don't buy a HK45CT unless you plan on getting a suppressor. I bought the Tactical model because I wanted the extra barrel length (for added velocity) but the cost was $300 more than a standard Compact model.

Yea, I've been thinking about that. It's like i can afford an FNX now, but a USP or HK45 is just 400 dollars more. I hate being a poor student! Soon I'll be a working person. . . but still poor because of student loans!!!!

I wish I could carry to work (especially since it's my fault that trayvon got killed and now some groups are after me - I am federal law enforcement) but in my agencies wisdom I am not allowed to bring any weapons on base even though I ride around in a truck with a pistol, M16, and a shotgun. local law enforcement is allowed to and so are the marshals so I drive my 35 miles one way twice a day with less protection than I do at any other time in my live. but they care about us and that's why we are unarmed and under staffed, anyone who believes the government gives a rat's [censored] about them is sadly mistaken, they care about money and power and only do what they need to do too keep it. sorry about the rant. I have my XM, widgidoshi, a ronson blue flame light, a Zippo, my survival bracelet, festina 20ATM. divers watch and my XD45 on me today because its a day off.

Well my warm weather EDC is complete after this weekend when I got a steal of a deal on this little number. So this is my summer load out as it stands right now. The watch is a rotating piece. I have around 15 EDC watches that I change depending on what I am planing on doing that day, but they are all solar, kinetic, or automatic. The Zippo and Ronson are the same as the watches they rotate out.

I think the best thing I saw in this post is your dads old wallet that you still carry. It's awesome. I have my dads Swiss army knife, he carried it everyday. I gavre it to him years ago on a trip we took to germany. We went over the borders into switzerland and i bought it or him. but I haven't been able to take it off his dresser yet since he passed. Someday maybe. I don't know your father, but I bet he'd want you to carry his knife. Thank you jj, I know but I can't do it yet, I guess then it will be final in some weird sort of way. I did take it out at Christmas though, the whole family would call to Pop for his sak, to open any stubborn gifts or wrappings. Thanks again. Carry the knife my friend

My carry guns are a Ruger LCP and a Glock 17 that I reduced the grip to accept G19 mags. I think I like the modified G17 the best. My other EDC contents are mine and mine alone.

I carry a Jetbeam 1aa led light every day. It has high, med and low functions with strobe. When it finally gives up the ghost, or sooner, you never know, I think I might go to this. http://www.fenixlight.com/ProductMore.aspx?id=79&tid=10&cid=1I could live with just three brightness levels but 4 will work. Plus the strobe and sos modes could come in real handy.
