I taught for 11 hours at the range yesterday, rode the bike today and got called in to work tomorrow because the 2 sgts that normally work when I'm off are both out one sick and the other with a death in the family.

After much trial and error. Believe I have them perfectly strapped. I can even draw the DF without taking the pack off all ninja style.

I think I'm going to prepackage some red beans and rice with a spice packet in a vacume sealer. Now that I have my recipe down. The one thing I will have to do without is the sausage in the pack though.

Zatarans and Savoies both make the prepackaged/premixed stuff. It isn't as good as home made, but it beats the hell out of any freeze dried meals. Takes longer to prep though. I am not in a hurry when cvamping anyway.

I'm not getting hosed. I don't mind covering for my fellow Sgt's. They would do the same for me. I had to arrange for child care but family never seems to mind. I had today to relax and put some miles on the bike. I will get some comp time in tomorrow and then I get my other regular day off. Then My partner will take Friday for the other two. Hopefully the one will be healed up enough to come back to work by then. Oh sounds like you're getting hosed MB.
