Oh sorry, I forgot to say he DID have a gun and fired off ONE shot just after the deputy got there. The Deputy then held held him at gunpoint but the dude fled into a house, then back outside, then inside and finally came back out and I guess once he saw 4 cops there he just dropped the gun and gave up.

It takes all kinds. Must be a full moon tonight too.

Actually I think that it is. It has been a successful night though, everybody goes home, except the kid, he's in the padded room.

All's well that ends well.

I've never understood the Suicide By Cop thought process. If they want to die, why not do it themselves. A cop may miss, or hit somewhere that leads to a slow and painful death. Just a morbid thought for this time of morning.

Simple, they're cowards, kinda sorta.

Or it could be religious. IF they believe that suicide is a sin, then being killed by someone else, even though they instigated it, isn't a sin (they think) because they did not die PHYSICALLY by their own hand.

I think I'd lean towards the first one. Just being cowards.

I've had my share of bad times in my days, and I've NEVER gotten to the point where I thought "Hmmm, I think I'll get someone to shoot me today."

YUP, me neither Todd, but there was alcohol or drugs involved apparently. And Yeah I tend more to lean toward thinking it's the coward part almost all the time.

Alcohol and drugs, check. Just another crutch for the cowards way out.

Get drunk and try to get shot, then cry like a kid that crapped his pants on the playground when things go wrong.
