Money has just got so tight that we're cutting back everywhere we can. I dropped my gym membership, we're getting a less expensive vehicle that gets better mileage, and then we're signing over the vehicle my daughter drives to her so we can quit paying the insurance on it and let her take it over.

That's quite a bit of gas.

She drives about 70 miles a day just for work, and the Explorer gets about 17 mpg. You do the math. Something has to give.

Kinda makes my paltry 30 miles look good (that's to and from work)

I think I figured it wrong, her daily trip is more like 55-60 miles round trip. Still too many miles a day in something that gets 17 mpg

I was thinking of keeping the Explorer for myself and just buying the Escape outright, but I don't want to get rid of my truck and I couldn't justify keeping the Explorer financially.

I'll sure miss it, it's been a great vehicle. But it's time for something smaller.

I wish we had an SUV instead of the pickup. Just like them better.

See, I'm just the opposite. I'd rather have a pickup.

Only reason for us to have a SUV or car is because of Clay, and he's about ready to move out.

Every time I get rid of a truck, I'll find all sorts of stuff that I need to haul. I know it's just excuses to buy another pickup though.
