I have never seen a plasti-spray. Just the dip. I might have a use for plasti-spray. Where did you find it?

got it from home depot... over with the spray paints and less than I was seeing it online.
see some guys painting bumpers and wheels with it. im thing about taking my bumper cover off and seeing painting all black now. got a bad paint job after somebody backed into me. chipping and looks pretty bad so the plasti dip thing might make for a easy cheap fix. and maybe won't look bad. definitely won't look as bad...

Thanks, I may have to pick some up. There have been several times I wanted to plasti-dip something and couldn't because it was too big. That might come in handy.

I think the solar panel is a good investment and with the lower prices it just makes sense to put them in use.
i got a 27" iMac a few years back and this sucker can heat up a room all by itself. in the summer I know its like having a heater on while having the ac going at the same time. I wouldn't mind just having a panel with a fan on it just running behind my computer. since my ac runs all day pretty much 9 months out of the year I'm better that would've saved me some money by now. and I'm sure there's a million other little things a solar panel is more efficient at. just have to make the initial investment and have the ideas.
also a good investment in educating yourself. power goes out and you know you can rig up a way to keep a few electronics going without burning up other resources.

I have a 300 watt inverter, a couple of deep cycle batteries. I am curious how many watts of solar power it would take to run some small appliances.

I would think most appliances don't require as much power as we think. been a while since I tinkered with anything but in most cases if you open stuff up and bypass the cheap power supply crap they stick in there you can give it just enough juice to get it going.
but yuh, I have been wondering just how much you can milk from inexpensive solar rig. just no enough expendable cash to cover a new habit.

If i could save some cash using a solar setup I would do it in a heartbeat. I'm just not sure I can, even with already having the other components.

gotta run and play midnight taxy driver... but I'm thinking I will try to pick up some solar panels soon. will make for sole really good projects over the summer. and even when the lights go out we may all still be able to hang out in the yard...

All this talk of plasti-dip and solar power makes me wish Bill Gates was my uncle and that he liked me! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
