My uncle is a Sargent in a fair size city and is in charge of the Night shift. He said things are really picking up in the heat

I am bigger on practice than on the ranger plates for pistols. I guess if you were wearing heavy gloves they might have a purpose. I see more cons than pros to them.
The best thing for reloading/loading under stress is plenty of practice. I practice combat reloads and tac reloads with empty mags and weapons. Very honestly you fight like you train. I have found that I will do things without making a concious decision to do them because I have trained that way. Thats why it is important to train correctly.
I spend at least 4 times as much time doing dry runs with weapons manipulations and dry firing as I do on trigger time with live ammo. It makes a world of difference. When I am doing live fire excercises its much more productive.

We had call volumes here over the weekend similar to mid-summer weekends. It was unreal, and if it's a sign of things to come we may be in trouble!

If you want them they don't hurt. But they are not necessary.

I'm thinking of getting a Glock 23 pretty soon. I love my G19 and I shoot it well, but I still wonder about the .40 vs 9mm differences.

I like the g23. It is a great gun. I like 40 more than the 9 for a couple reasons but you have some nice advantages with the 40.

I wouldn't mind picking up a G-17 or a G-19. But I think a new 22 pistol is next in line.

I shoot the 9mm well, and I'm sure the lack of recoil is a bit part of it. Recoil doesn't bother me, but I'm sure it doesn't help either.
