I'm doing pretty good Todd. Way better than JJ. I just had to wear out a 7 year old.

We are on Marine Recruit Depot Sand Diego (boot camp) and we had already broken a sweat and our backs before the recruits had gotten out of their racks! When they finally got out to the fields for their PT session (which ended well before ours despite starting an hour later) the look on their faces was epic. The drill instructors stopped their PT and put them in formation to watch sergeants, staff sergeants, gunnery sergeants and a major move past their field. "That's what real PT is you maggots" I heard the drill instructor say to them.

I'm doing pretty good Todd. Way better than JJ. I just had to wear out a 7 year old. I'm a firm believer in "Spare the rod, spoil the child." Unfortunately I didn't figure that out till it was too late with mine. I babied them and coddled him, and now he's ruined.

Dang. Sounds like he had it out for someone maybe? Not really. He used us being exhausted to see who would step up and take a leadership role under stressful conditions. I was told to shut up since the exercise was for the staff sergeants of the substation and NOT for us headshed guys.

I keep hoping that he will get interested in the military. He's talking about the USAF, so I guess all hope is not lost yet.

I keep finding new things that are sore. Pretty sure this is the first time my pinky toe has been sore.

Sounds like a great plan to me! Does that mean you're done in SD for now?

We are going to watch a platoon of fresh recruits do their initial strength test in the morning, then we are flying out of here at noon.
No plans to come back, but since this is where the Western Recruiting command is, I am sure I'll be back.

Cool. At least you don't have to wake up to PT in the morning.
