When did sporting goods store become clothing stores? I went out to pick up ammunition today. I had to go to a few to find what I needed. I literally had a bigger selection at home that 2 of them had.

You used to be able to pick up a decent selection of ammunition nearly everywhere. Now if you can afford it you have to get it from a gun shop or online. I remeber buying ammo at Western Auto when I was a kid.

What the heck.
We used to get ammo at gas stations
Stupid gun laws killed that.
Walmart killed most mom and pop gun stores around here

Next time I drive through Idaho, I am going to take pics of the ammo store near Island Park. Booze and Bullets. Brilliant name, and yes, they sell exactly what it sounds like they sell.

Once the federal long gun registry is dead it will be interesting to see what happens around here

You used to be able to get a decent selection of 22lr ammo nearly anywhere. Now there are a few places that carry overpriced crap ammo. For decent stuff I have to order online. Shipping isn't cheap so I order in bulk to help keep the costs down.

I am half tempted to open up an ammo only store. If I thought I could pay the bills doing it I would.

Same here plus ammo is real expensive here
Before 9/11 I used to get ammo just down across the border

Ammo prices have jumped a bunch in the past two years.

And locally there are some sporting good stores but I am not a big fan of those. This new local gunshop opened and has great prices on every thing. I really like to support him for local ownership and his cheap prices
