Haha, actually I DID NOT know that. Nice history lesson. Are you a student of History or just checked it out? And how is the dark continent today?

Randy
I remember random things I read and if I recall it I search for again to confirm.
I found the reference on Wikipedia though, but read it first in one of the original books when they talked about the author.
Going good except trying to figure out PayPal. Going to give it a skip and try and sort it out in a few weeks when I have some time off (seems I need some form of credit card, no other options in South Africa). 3 months of 12 hour shifts are getting a bit hectic.
I spent to much on supplements again though....getting my body in shape and fit again.
The Y'all and thang is something we dont understand....if you speak Sebenza, Umnumzaan, Mnandi, Dumela, Koghle, Goeie dag, julle....that we understand

HAHA, I know Sebenza, and Umnumzaan (I have a small classic 2000 sebbie I named "Little Sebbie" in honor of my wife's sister Debbie that died of colon cancer in 2000). My Umnumzaan I named uncle Um, must cause it rolls off the tongue so well.
OK, Y'all as I know you know is just a contraction of you and all, meaning everyone and Thang is just a lazy way of saying thing. We also say "Coke", meaning ANY soda (around here a lot of us day Sodee for soda). We have different dialects (If that is what you want to call them) just like they do anywhere else in the world. It's just fun to make fun of them (Ourselves included) at times. JUST so we don't take ourselves to serious.

If you want a laugh, sometime do a search on Redneck slang terms. Here's one. http://www.countryhumor.com/redneck/dictionary.htmThere are a LOT of funny ones out there.

Well dogs, my relief will be here before long and I need to get stuff ready for shift change. I don't figure I'll be back on here until I get back to work tonight so until then, Y'all take care, keep your eyes and ears open. There ARE those out there that are more than willing to hurt you for the most trivial of reasons.

Spent three hours watching just ONE THIRD of a movie (OK, a TRILOGY) today. It's something called "Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring"! ME LIKIE! Can't wait to watch the other two parts. I can see now why all the hype around the movie and why it took so long to make. IF it hasn't already done so, it WILL become an all time classic. It was a birthday present from my Stepson. While I enjoyed the movies, as a hard-core fan of the original books I wasn't pleased with the changes they made. I hope they keep the Hobbit to the original story
