Goodwill man!!! Go shopping! I have a friend that used to go pick through the night drop offs...he got some really good "deals" that way....not a suggestion of course and certainly not me!
Yeah, I can’t go “donation diving” here. They have cameras watching everything and signs saying they’ll have you arrested if you take anything. I’ve been shopping inside though, but it’s been pretty slim pickings for weeks. I was hoping they’d get a bunch of “grey goods” donated from Target returns. I figured after Xmas people would be returning a bunch of gifts. Not much so far though.
Cold Steal made some nice knives especially the CarbonV ones. I love their shovel and machete kukuri and they do make stuff no one else does. That said it seems like most people start out with CS because they are available at your local knife store but when they get more knoledge and taste they start to upgrade.
I would consider holding on to nice Carbon V knives because they won't be making any more and most new versions are not as good.
Yeah, I think they do make some neat stuff that you can’t get elsewhere. And they make pretty good pocket knives, I have several of their folders. I have the shovel too and I like it also. I don’t like their degrading quality though that I’ve been seeing. If they keep it up, they’ll be on par with Bud K pretty soon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
