She's nearly 20 now, living up in Boone and going to school full time while holding down a job. She still asks my opinion on major things in her life. I'm glad she values my opinion now.

That makes much more sense Marshal. Todd. I think she learned quicker than most kids. Most don't appreciate how smart their parents are until they hit 25.

According to my son, I'm a dummy and he knows everything. He's gonna be 18 soon, and I've already told him that he needn't expect me to keep him up or keep him out of trouble. He's had a couple minor brushes with the law, nothing major, but it could have been worse.

Now that he's got his license, it really worries me. But he's improved a lot over the past couple years, so I decided that I'd give him a chance. He's done well so far, other than being irresponsible with his money and not having money for gas.
A couple days on the school bus fixed that, I think.

I've told mine the same thing. My dad is not without his faults, but he's a lot wiser than I am, even now.

I rarely miss a chance to learn something from my Dad. For the last decade or som it has been a two way street though. He is getting back his woodcraft skills and learning some new tricks.

Dads are awesome! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> My father and I use to have a rocky relationship. Mainly due to my stubbornness. Then back in 2009 I made a decision and was baptised. Really worked on my relationships and our relationship really grew to a whole new level. I respect all you fathers. Thank you for your love and support.
