That Scrofa would be a nice one. I almost bought one WAY back, but then said "Why do I need a knife with a blade like that". One of the DUMBEST things I've ever questioned myself about! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

On a similar note to Lazi's post ...

I got a response from my senator today. I wrote to him a few days ago voicing my opinion on the Nation Right to Carry Reciprocity Act, which would allow CCW permit holders in one state to cross state lines into another state that allows CCW permits to do so without fear of being arrested for practicing their Second Amendment. Being a person who regularly travels across states lines, this is important to me. And, it is a breath of fresh air to hear that my home state representative is spear heading this movement in the Senate.

Here's his reply:

"Dear Mr. Peace,

Thank you for contacting me in support of the National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

Like y ou, I believe one of our most fundamental constitutional rights is the right to keep and bear arms. That is why I introduced the Respecting States ' Rights and Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act . This bill would return power to individual s and to states by allowing law- abiding Americans to carry concealed firearms across state lines in accordance with local laws. This bill would not force states to change their laws and does not force individuals to go through another permitting process.

An individual's constitutional right to defend himself or herself should not arbitrarily stop at the state line. Rest assured that I will continue to work diligen tly to protect the Second Amendment rights of law- abiding Americans.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about other issues important to you."

Cool JJ. I know that Missouri has that feature in our CCW law. IF the state of issuance recognizes Missouri's CCW in their state, then Missouri will recognize theirs.

A lot of states have reciprocity laws for CCW, but if this new act passes, it will force all states with CCW permits to recognize permits just like all states recognize our drivers licenses.

It is only an active issue for me personally when I travel to California and Nevada as they are the only states that don't recognize my permit and are states I frequent. Utah's permit is only equaled by Florida's as both are good in about 37 states. But, I believe it should be nationalized like a driving permit.

I read one about a man who was going to a pistol competition and his plane got redirected, due to weather, to New York and got arrested after landing for having handguns when he tried to find out where to put them after getting into a very Second Amendment unfriendly state.
