hey Chris, I was batoning with my RD7, a 5-6 inch log and the scales shifted! I was hitting them with the other piece of wood, but I am surprised, no damage but hmmmm. I'm glad their easy to loosen.

My scales shifted while I was throwing my RD4 and RD7. I actually stripped one of the brass fittings - but Justin hooked me up w/ a new set of bolts and fittings, gratis, which was very cool of him.

Almost there Souped!!

Justin suggests that you use some spray wax under the scales on the satin finished blades - you might try the same. I just use Tuf Cloth though - haven't had any problems yet.

thanks dice, I figured as much, it was nothing bad. I'll do what is suggested. (I'm like complaining: "look theirs a tiny cloud in the blue sky!!!)
