One thing that influences in to my thoughts about my work is that the government and the counties are saving money. They have several different saving programs going on. For example I was hoping to get to work as a military police (very different than leo) but they are now closing military bases and about 1200 people are getting unemployed!

In leo departments all the cars are old and worn and there is a constant lack of people in the field and office...

Same here, Timo. Things are tight all over.

We're working with 4 tonight instead of our usual 8, and it's been a hectic night. We lost one to a transfer, one is in school this week, one quit and the last one is on vacation. Makes for an interesting night.

No replacements for the ones that are gone from our shift either, at least not until July 1 when the new fisical year starts.

Well how long can THEY do that. How long it takes that people are totally exhausted and worn out. Have we become products that THEY use and then replace?!?

Sounds just like ours. It´s not fun to hope in the beginning of your every shift that nothing serious happens. Some day the SHTF for real and what then? THEY blame us for being incapable and we are jus trying to survive? I wouldn´t want to be in that situation.

Timo, unfortunately, probably until someone close to "Them" gets hurt.

Yep! Those t-shirts are quite the rage in our department among the younger guys.

Older guys won't advertise they're cops, but some of the younger guys haven't gotten there yet.

Unfortunately, most of the folks we deal with would say that saying is NOT true! And Unfortunately, a lot of the bosses think the same thing.
