I had the first Japanese V-twin from Yamaha, the Virago 750 back in '82. That was one fine motorcycle, much more reliable than most of the Harleys were back then. My '85 Honda Shadow 1100 was a great bike, too. My '86 HD Sportster 1100 was fast, actually quicker than the Honda, but it LIVED in the shop. Even my old iron engine Sportster was more reliable. Nowadays, I can't really complain. My 2004 Road King runs fine (95" big bore kit, SE2 cams). I really like the new Street Glide, but since I'm retired, the King will have to do. But there isn't a thing wrong with a V Star. I've ridden them. I do sometimes miss my 2002 Softail Deuce. It was fast and set low and mean. Raked out chrome forks, python shotgun pipes. It was just a beautiful bike.

I want one but think i might wait until Josh comes back to Dayton.

I got a Smokin deal on the V Star or I was waiting til next year to buy one. It's only a 650, but I think it'll be fine as essentially a starter bike.

Yea i was looking at fat boys but don't think i can make it happen this year.

The cheapest Harley I found was around $10k, so it just wasn't in the cards right now.

I was a little nervous getting back on one after so long. It didn't help that two of my friends have had accidents on motorcycles in the past month or so.

I had that Road King for sale at $9000 with only 6k on it, but once Susan saw it, I had to keep it. She loves riding the King.

Too bad I didn't see it when you had it for sale! I'd have driven to your island for that one!

I haven't rode a bike full time in 15-16 years, when i sold my kz 1100 i vowed my next one would be a Harley, and i am pretty stuck on the fat boy.
