I've got a Marlin 30/30 that my son deer hunts with that is pretty smooth too, but it's an ancient gun that's well broke in.

Those were outstanding. Hard to find now. But they put the Marlins to shame. The Henry has a similar feel at a fair price.

I may end up with a Henry at some point. They're beautiful guns, regardless of how they handle and shoot.

When I got to work tonight there was an envelope waiting on me with a knife and a note inside. The Chief deputy wants me to sharpen his Uncle Henry Stockman. So hopefully it won't be to bad a night.
