That is what I think as well Tom. But then hard core campers like JJ will in all probability still favor the DF, along with those that drive to the campsite and set up. The DF makes old farts like me walk sideways! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> You could use a sled.

I've bought a bunch of 10 7.11's for me and for me and some other italian knife member forum,
some of who have bought the 7.11 and had already the DF say the 7.11 has a tendency to bounce a little wood on which the DF does not.
Fear that the longest being only 9 of 7 he has this tendency

Mag, I think you should try a hammock. I tested mine for the first time couple of days ago, don't want sleep on the ground any more. So, thank you MB for the information about hanging in trees. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> i have two hammocks, but i don't always have two good trees! it is my favorite way to sleep, even over my bed at home.

Fabio, look at the weight of the 911 Vs the 711. The 911 will probably not bounce off wood like the 711 has. Believe it or not, the DF will also do the same, IF you have the wrong piece of wood.
Personally I wouldn't worry about it not working very well.
