You may look at a 1.4x or a 2x multiplier We had thought about it but kind of ruled it out. A lot of the pics in the summer are in deep shade while we are in sunlight.

Yeah, plus if you're able to get that close you don't need one anyway. Unless she's cropping her photos down a lot, you're fine.

If you had Nikon, I have one I'd let you try out to see if you wanted one.

Most of the pics I put up she has cropped, but not all that much.

It stays on my 300mm lens that I use to take pics of the moon sometimes.

WAY back in the late 70's I had a double on my Pentax. I had a telephoto 300mm lens. That rascal would reach out there and catch something!

Yep, sure will. But even on a tripod I have a hard time keeping the camera steady enough to get sharp shots of the moon. It's something that I work on every chance I get.

And on these newer cameras you can't use a cable release. MAYBE a timer mode IF you have a static shot.

I've got a remote release for both of mine, so that isn't the problem. It's just tough technically to get it right, plus there can't be any wind, etc.

You notice that I've never posted any pics of the moon, right. That's because I've never took one that I was satisfied with.

I took a picture of the moon once, way back before I went into the AF. It was winter. I was using B&W film and took a pic of the moon through the limbs of a leafless tree. Rested the camera on the top of my car. It actually turned out good, but alas the picture is gone, but I still remember the way it looked. Full moon showing the light and dark spots.

Yep. All I've ever gotten to look good is just a shot of the full moon. I need something else in it.
