It's pretty nice here tonight. Looked stormy, but I think it all passed north and west of us.

I don't care what it does during the night, I just hope for a dry ride home in the morning.

Good here as well. Still no rain. Was talking to a guy yesterday that said we are 9 inches below normal rainfall this year.

We WERE about 6 inches low for the year. But we've had almost 5 inches here in the past two weeks.

They're calling for a beautiful weekend here. It's rained every weekend I've been off for a while.

Oh hey, Pattys best friend has a son that is a photographer. I would say professional but he doesn't do it for a living, but he could, he's that good. He DOES take a lot of pictures for and of people but he is disabled.

Anyway, he was across the street at his mom's house today and told Patty to come over and bring her camera. So away we went. He started looking and messing with her camera a canon eos Xs (he uses some 800 dollar nikon) and started pushing buttons and changing settings and such and told her to ALWAYS (almost anyway) to shoot in manual mode and showed her how to do it. He save some kind of settings for her to use when shooting at Mingo and showed her a couple of things and she took a picture of a rabbit out the front door and MAN was it good. What ever he did sure did work. She now uses a wheel on the camera to get the f stop set and her pictures hopefully will be greatly improved. We are going to find out when I get off in the morning. MINGO here we come!

I shoot in aperture priority most of the time. I set the f-stop and the camera sets the shutter speed to go with it.

If I'm getting something besides what I want, I'll go to manual and do it all myself. But most of the time, the camera is pretty good once I set the f-stop

I think that is what he has set up for patty. Something about using portrait mode and she uses a wheel up by the shutter release to get the F stop "Centered" then snaps the shot.

I say use whatever works. If he's got it set for her and she likes the results, I wouldn't change a thing
