I have no new toys. I have a ton of money built up on my per diem account though. Been too busy working to shop.

Best of luck with the promotion board JJ. You've worked hard for it.

Don't think I need luck. But, thank you.

Well I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye one of these days. Besides, you need to get a new bicycle.

I know this is nothing for you, but for a fat, old out of shape chairman, I feel pretty good about it.

I'm up to a mile and a half at 2.5-3mph with a 5-6 degree incline on the treadmill. I walk for 30 minutes and I can tell that I am improving, I'm not as whupped afterward as I was just a week ago. I am afraid to run on it, even though they say it SHOULD hold up. Just something about having a 6ft 272 pound old guy running on it bothers me. Now when I get down to 270..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Awesome! Don't worry about running. Walking burns about the same amount of calories as running per mile. Running just does it faster. If you are worried about hurting joints, walk fast on an steep incline like you are doing.

Keep it up old mam!

That increases if you are heavy. So, walking or running one mile burns more.

I figured that would be the case, just makes sense.

According to the machine, I'll burn about 260-288 during the 30 minutes. I am POSITIVE it isn't accurate, just an estimate but at least it gives me a reference. And Thanks JJ.

And actually my hip (the right one gives me fits sometimes) hasn't been hurting near as much as it did just a month ago.

Try the rowing machine. No impact and lots of effort.

No place to try a rowing machine. The treadmill is in our spare bedroom.

I TRY and hit it every day but don't make it. BUT I am on it at least 3 days a week, ok, sometimes only 2. But I get on it as much as I can make it. Doc says he is going to double my BP medicine if I don't get my blood pressure below 130. I DO NOT want to double up on that. So exercise, and the food I eat combined with the weight loss will all help.
