It was supposed to have a shaped lower guard ( that got messed up) so it looks more like an actual Bowie style. Going to try removing the material in front of the micarta spacer, make a two piece front guard and slide it into place, we'll see

I think that is doable, if you've got a sander and a good sharp knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> for the final cleanup.
