Prior to our upcoming campout, my son wanted to put the 711 to use. So I had him baton a couple bundles of seasoned red oak for the fireplace. The 711 cut through the stuff like butter. Almost effortlessly. One whack, two whacks, three whacks, done. After the first few pieces, my son yells out I WANT THIS KNIFE!!! I can't say how it compares to the SOD but this knife is fantastic.

Obligatory stunt photo resting on a pile of fatwood sent by a fellow hog. Easily batoned and shaved up a bunch of thin strips out of these super chunks.

Nice pics Javadog. Lots of good lookin' metal there. I got the shipping notification for my 711 yesterday. So those pictures really warmed my soul.

Isn't the "be able to carry and swing this thing all day" supposed to be the biggest benefit of the df le over the original df?

Those ARE some great scores, and I'm glad to say that I have them all as well! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Wish I could say that to!
Although yesterday I got a Basic 9 Sage blade/handle in the mail. Suprisingly the specs that java posted on his B10 is the same as the B9??? I was told its a b9.
Mine has a 10" Infi blade and oal. 15" 1/8" .26 thick. It looks like a 911 doesn't it!
Rainwalker is making pants for it.
Heres a picture compared.

Absolutely! I've only had two other DF's, but the LE was the lightest. It is the only one I still have as I most often carry my choppers. Would really love to see Dan come out with another long and lean chopper.

On a side note, I'm surprising my son with his own 711 on an upcoming trip late July. David is making a nice woodland camo sheath for it as well. Should look awesome together.

Nice score! I'm really digging that tan/sage 911. I love that color combo on Dogs. I don't have a 911 (yet) but that one would be my choice. Many great reviews on all the 11 series. Lots of very happy Dogs in the yard with that mega release.
