This is my first attempt at making anything out of leather. I have modified a few things, but never started from scratch.

I hit up the local Tandy Leather Store and a sweet little old lady helped me get the right stuff. She even helped me decide how to decorate it. When she asked what kind of pistol it was for, I showed her. She noticed the zombie hunter patch on my bag as I pulled the weapon out. She also had already heard I need the holster to accommodate a silencer. She put two and two together and said "zombies are ugly, so you should make the holster ugly."

I put a light coat of black stain on it and made it splotchy by rubbing random patterns with more stain on my fingers. I then scratched it up with a knife to give it a beat up look.

If you look closely, you can see the faces of the souls I freed during my last zombie hunt.

The design changed as I progressed and now I need to go back to the store and get some more leather and a buckle to make a leg strap. I decided to mimic a gunslinger style since I wanted it to be a fast draw in case I walked up on any evil squirrels or rabbits.

I am certainly not close to the one who walks on rain, but I feel good about this. It is solid and should last a lifetime.

Couple more glamor and detail shots to round things off.

I sure never would have thought it was your first attempt JJ. Put some OD Green on it though, to make it a TRUE Zombie Hunter Holster.

Thanks guys.

I just added a belt loop to the bottom back of it for a leg strap. I'll add an updated pic when I get a strap tomorrow.

Strap will help a lot, specially when outside. Shouldn't have to worry about getting debris in the suppressor that way.

Thanks Shoonmine. I got advice from forum members here and downlaoded some digital leather working books. Wasn't to hard, but my fingers are stained black now. Wear gloves when using stain.
