I keep seeing the khukri threads and thinking about Dan's reason for not making it (steel waste), so I started thinking of other designs that would be more efficient.

I propose a langseax. The regulator handle and a big long blade (10"-15").

I like the combination of historical appeal and functionality this could have.

I'd worry about tip breakage whacking something that pointy with that much weight behind it

I hope the khuk is made! I wasn't trying to knock it out, just offering another idea for a fun blade that might be simpler to manufacture for Dan.

The Langseax being such and old design encompasses a large variety of designs. I trust Dan could design something with proper strength. The tip certainly doesn't need to be as long and thin as the examples I showed.

I like the idea too. We were just having fun.

I the tip of the Reg. is pretty pointy too, and I can't imagine it breaking against wood are even steel unless you are extremely mad at it.

JJ, the Regulator never had that needle sharp skinny of a point <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Whatever. Dan makes it, I'll buy it.
