After looking at your pic, I pulled mine out of the case and set the dovetail on top of the receiver. What I noticed was that I can line up the front bead with the top of the rear sight, but I cannot put the front bead lower to meet the point of the white diamond on the rear sight, which would be my normal sight picture. Maybe that's not the correct sight picture but it's what I usually use.

So I'm thinking if I wanted to be able to sight the front bead lower I would have to take an angle grinder and make a center groove down the length of the dovetail mount. I don't think this would weaken the mount too much but not sure.

JJ, that is a fine piece of kit you have there. I especially love the leather work that you did.

I finished the wrap for my rifle and decided to play around with the camera again. Yeah, I know, I am addicted to toys.

As you can see, and possibly to Lazi's approval, I picked up two 25 round mags from my sergeant major. He let go of both for a promise to make a kydex sheath for a knife he is waiting on.

I see the same thing on mine. I can't get the front sight to the lower V part of the rear sight either. I don't think it would weaken the rail enough to worry about it if you grind a V down the middle of it.

Thanks. I don't see a future for me in the leather industry, but I enjoy working with my hands and making custom stuff.

Getting closer to being finished. I picked up a threaded coupling for the 10/22 (shown in pic), and put a sling lug on the foregrip. I had to put a few washers as spacers to get the lug out past the leather for the Harris Utralight 9-13". I used a clip from an old computer bag for the rear sling attachment and added a Harris sling attachment thingy for the front.

I thought that he was going to thread you barrel JJ, didn't realize he was going to put an adapter on it.

The plan is still to get the barrel threaded, but when I saw this adapter at the drug dealer ... I mean gun dealer shop for $15, I figured I would slap it on for now. Works fine.
