This is my pack and kit that I usually cart around with me to work and on various outings to overnight trips.

This is by no means a complete kit, but has the basics and room for change and other everyday items.

What do you guys carry??

MOST DAYS I also carry a lighter (full size bic or a VPI/school pride) and a flash light.

What are some of the small stuffs you got there perksy? Do I see a can of silly string in there?

ETA: glad to see some activity in this forum again!

Bushmans Insect repelant! Of course! Sounds good man.

So...your EDC sounds a lot more comprehensive than most...what aspects of it are incomplete? i.e. what do you wish to add? Sounds to me like you got the boy scout motto pretty much covered.

Its not exactly EDC, but I take this pack with me to work six days a week as well as on day trips and overnighters. I don't wear it around when out shopping or around town, but it usually is in the car.

If I am heading into the bush I usually have a much more comprehensive kit, but this set up works for day to day and is not overly heavy. I think I could use a bit more first aid gear, but I am pretty happy with what I carry at present.

Its kind of like a well equiped work/day bag.

What is the shelf life on pain meds? I hear you should keep some in aid kits, but how often should they be rotated?

I think it depends on the medicine. Usually it tells you on the pill bottle. Or you can call a pharmacy and ask.

Almost all medication is good years if not decades beyond its expiration date as long as they are kept airtight and no moisture.

They just loose potency and dont become toxic.
