Thanks for the offer about the Maglight LED but I have a cool Fenix light coming my way this week. I will post some pics when it comes as it is one of the coolest lights on the market.
I don't feel so bad about our gun laws after seeing whats happening in britain. It is unbelivable, they want to ban pointy kitchen knives and SAKs.
I tried the double headed sharpie but it conked ut really fast.
Soeone I was talking to mentoined a really cool carry gun. It is a CZ75(personal fave) with a compact slide and full size grip. That way you get all your rounds,a good grip and it is still a smaller package. Oh well at least I can EDC my Dogfather if I really wanted.

hey all
you guys should be grateful for living in a country where law abiding citizens are allowed to carry .. here in the uk we can only legally carry a sub 3" non locking folding knife.. if you do get stopped and searched then even one of those will ensure you don't get allowed onto the tube (metro, bart, subway type thing)
anyway .. my urban edc is as follows
Spyderco UK penknife Fred Perrin Wallet Pentagon Light L2 mobile Phone in aqua blue (cause it makes girls go ooo) USB pen drive with all my details, passwords, medical records encrypted with pgp a roll of pound coins 1 litre bottle of mineral water some elastoplasts, sterile bandana in a ziploc, some compeed gel plasters, a small bottle of chinese herbal liquid bruise/ligament medicine
all of this carried in a very ordinary shoulder bag .. the only thing i haven't seen in other people lists is the chinese herbal medicine and the gel plasters.. i had to walk about six miles one day cause of transport failures and i'm glad i had those ..
cheers

Uquq would you mind posting a pic of the UK penknife? I spend some time on British Blades for my bushcraft fix and the opinion seems to be that the UK Penknife is the best production UK legal knife and I have know idea what they look like.
It is terrible in the UK they are scared to talk about the SF dagger because the dagger shape is only good for fighting. It is really sad when people censor themselves out of fear. With all the CCTV cameras ,ASBO's and a populace so indoctrinated to obey it is very much like east germany under the stasi.
The USB thing is a cool idea I have a 2 gig memorex I barely use. I think the US has a better grasp of what is actually dangerous than the UK as they ban PGP but not handguns. It is an interesting priority. I also love how texas allows handguns but not knives with a bigger than 5 and a half inch blade. The state that is famous for bowies does not allow bowies.

thanks for the pic Bubba. It is a great EDC knife...
Unsub..yep i agree . as someone who trains MA everyday, i am deeply interested in how our forerunners developed tools that could be used to protect oneself in times of emergency. Unfor. anything blade that is produced for combat is banned in the UK. So if we want to discuss things such as the FS dagger a lot of hinting and stuff has to be done Apologies if y posts sounded like i was being deliberatley awkward but we have to be careful to make sure our forum can carry on without bad publicity.
There is a relation between this and teh main issue of EDC packs. We are so controlled and dependent on the authorities that when something does go wrong people panic and are unable to cope. God forbid anything really bad happens. I'm not sure our society would continue to function.

I think the US has a better grasp of what is actually dangerous than the UK as they ban PGP but not handguns. We can have PGP. It's just not legal to export. Reason being, it's so good encryption, they don't want people in other countries to have it because of security concerns. All they'd have to do is download it from the net though.

Ugug, nice to see someone (mostly) agrees with me! Your last comment totally hits the nail on the head.. "Wrong kind of snow" and "leaves on the line" and we grind to a standstill, lot alone anything bad!
