Just checking to see if there would be any interest in a boot knife from the Scrap Yard. There's no shortage of threads about people's dream big blades (khukuri, parang, golok, MOAD, etc.) but I rarely see any about smaller knives that people would like to see from the Yard.
I think a full guard is necessary to keep it more in line with the traditional style. Maybe a scaled down Regulator handle or War Dog handle with a full guard.
For the blade I would prefer the dagger style that's common on most boot knives, with a false top edge to keep it legal in most areas. I could also go for a small pointy Bowie shape too. I think stainless would be better suited for inside the boot/waistband carry, satin 154cm would be king here. Oh, and no finger choil. If a sharpening choil is necesssary then make it snag free.
How about some input from the rest of the dogs? Is there any interest at all? Personally I would buy two and sharpen the top edge on one of 'em.
Comments please.

Interesting thought... I could see some merit with the idea. A scaled down regulater would be great!

Very good idea! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
About 4" double edge blade. I think the blade could be quite wide near the full guard. A true fighter would need a skull crusher too.

Just my 2 cents, which because of inflation holds even LESS merit.
Blade NO MORE than 4 inches from point to handle (many places have a 3 1/2) restriction.
Like Spidy said, false top edge for legality. (They CAN be sharpened though)
Bowie style blade (no radical upswept point)
Good res c handle with strategic swells and sways for extra grippiness.
NO TOP GUARD, and a minimal bottom guard. IF it's gonna be a BOOT or Waistband blade, you want to be able to bring it into play with as small a chance of it grabbing something on the way out as possible.
Full flat ground blade and as Spidy indicated no choil. BUT a small round Cutout, maybe 1/8 inch so the full length of the cutting edge could be sharpened.
Actually I think that the 311 handle would be fantastic on this blade. It's small thereby enhancing concealability, yet large enough to get a good grip on(although a possibly 1/2 inch longer would work also). It's Res-c so there is a grippiness without being overly grippy.
Actually, being Res-c IF the blade side of the handle were designed with a swelling out of the handle, an actual guard might not be necessary.
Oh well, just my thoughts.

While patiently awaiting Jerry's Hawkeye........ ![[Linked Image from i947.photobucket.com]](http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad312/DHOOKER2/HawkeyeDageerwithBullseyePattern2.jpg) I bet Dan could come up with a Nuclear War Dog, like what has been done with the Ratmandu. ![[Linked Image from i947.photobucket.com]](http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad312/DHOOKER2/015-3.jpg) 154cm would be OK and round out the prommel, similar to this. ![[Linked Image from i947.photobucket.com]](http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad312/DHOOKER2/001-6.jpg) Maybe have two sizes, 3.75" & 5" The smaller of the two would do well with the 311 handle

Got any more of that 154CM lying around the scrap yard? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You already have Dan chiming in?! My kukri thread has been around for weeks! Color me green! It would take a lot of steel to make a kukri. Much would be wasted. That would drive up costs over other, straighter designs. At least that's how Dan explained it to me at the last Blade I attended.
