So I reprofiled it to 25 degs with the coarse diamond. Then started to polish with the fine diamond. Now it is curling Papper like I have never seen. I'm still go to hit with a natural stone to finish the polish. Thanks for the encougement. I didn't wont to mess with the factory edge but now it is how I thought it should cut. I'll try some chopen later and see about the edge retention. Hope it is what I have heard about with the busee HT sr101

I find keeping a convex edge sharp is less work than a V grind. But I don't chop, so can't say if that would change it.

It does require stropping more often so you can't let it get too dull. YMMV.

Do you use the sharpmaker, not2sharp? I tried reprofiling a muppy with that and miserably failed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I used a smith set like the lansky. It worked got just took a long time. This sr 101 is stronge stuff. I just chopped throught some wood. Then it still curled paper. so it works for me I will strop it to keep it sharp.

Glad you got it working not2sharp! Monsterdog. I have some 320 grit triangle stones that I can reprofile a knife with. In fact, I reprofiled the 311 I had.

I have the diamond rods for it, I just don't think I can keep the angle straight all the time.
