Just mounted a Simmons 22mag 3x9x40 scope on the T/D Ruger 10/22. Ordered a folding stock from AGP Arms and should have the trigger pack back next week.

SN, wouldn't the folding stock violate the 26(?) inch minimum limit for the rifle? OR does that not count because the rifle isn't together? AND if it was together, would it be shorter than 26 inches?

It's not together and as long as the barrel is 16" long it's good to go without paper work.

OK, I thought that they had to be at least 26 inches long as well. Oh well, sounds like a nice setup.

Is the 10/22 takedown receiver identical to the receiver of the regular rifle?
As in, could you use it in a regular stock with a regular barrel?
Also is yours stainless or blued?

Also is yours stainless or blued? The receiver is different as it has the adjustment ring on it to take up any slack in barrel to receiver fit as it wears. I believe all the T/D 10/22's are stainless, at least I haven't seen a blued one yet. I just got the trigger pack back from Bill Springfield today and man is it sweet ! This guy does great work and his pricing and turn around can't be beat Shipped out to Colorado from Oregon last Monday and back in my mailbox this Monday. He has also done a couple AR triggers for me, one in 223 and another in 308. I had to put the scope all the way to the back with this butt stock so it would fit in the factory carry bag. This wont be a problem once my new folding stock gets here.

I have owned 2 AR-7s and 2 Marlin Papoose rifles. The Marlins were more reliable and accurate. My old AR would sometimes go full auto for 2 or 3 shots, which was fun. As for the Henry version, I haven't tried it. I do have two Henry lever actions, and I like both better than my old Marlin 39A. The original AR-7 was a pilot survival rifle. It was light weight, could float, and was accurate enough for small game hunting at close range. I'm still not sold on any take downs, even though the Ruger looks great. I like my S&W kit gun for taking small game at close range. It is pretty accurate for a 3" barrel. My old Ruger single six was superb for small game, back when my eyes were younger.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
