It makes for a beast of a little knife. I wouldn't be afraid to use it for anything.

That said, I use most of my knifes to cut some type of flesh. This is where the ElMax excels (mostly due to its thin profile). So, for me...the ElMax blades will probably see more use overall. For me, the 311 will probably end up in my truck as a truck blade. I love the overall package though...blade design, handle and thickness work really well together.

I do agree that a thinner and slighty longer elmax blade might be even better suited when it comes to kitchen duty.
