Yep an update on general production-run plans would be nice... Letting us scrap-aholics save up our pennies or cents or plan credit card financial meltdown...

hey guys, i'm new to the forums. i've been lurking for a week or so, waiting for some info on the bowie! at the same time, i've been having some fun speculating what the bowie will look like. i found one that would be really sweet-- it's a busse variant (a little more than halway down the page, or do a search for "V72 - Blue Grass Bowie"): http://homepage.mac.com/zombiekiller/badmojo/variants2.html

thanks for the welcome, gravelface. i just got a crazy thought: what if we still called it a bowie, but had it look different from the normal "bowie-ness", and more like, say, the "V70 - Steel Heart Harpooned Tipped Variant" above the blue grass bowie? you know, something with crazy grind lines.

Crabapple, I think #V70 would go against Dan's manifesto,"The guys in the shop used to call him “Dan The Hack” because his fit and finish were secondary concerns as he only cared about blade performance and little else. . . His philosophy was simple, if it didn’t affect the performance of the knife, he didn’t bother spending any time on it. So, his knives were a whole lotta ugly in the looks department with their simple handles and full-height flat ground blades, but their performance was simply amazing."

I don't think it would happen!

Howdy Crabapple and Welcome to the Yard!! That V72 variant is pretty cool looking, but I am really anxious (as are so many others!) to see Dan's Bowie. I hope it has clean lines and a decent clip-point. Tom

Hi Crabapple welcome to the yard! Looking at the Scrapper, Dan's lines are [censored] near perfect! The proportions are just spot on.. He may just be aiming at performance but does it with style. I bet you get a PT on the bowie...

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and I look forward to being a "paying" member of the forums once the bowie comes out!
