It's not a story, it's an adventure! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I have told a couple good stories here, really drew it out, long winded and then fessed up to it being a joke. Had dogs biting to, it was fun.

But the skunk thing really did happen. Last one I got was two years ago.

I earned the coveted "Sniper Badge", <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> one shot one kill. Farthest away was 30 yards. Just popped them in the head, lights out! Only had one to spray and that wasn't a full load.

30 yds is pretty far for skunk headshots with a pellet gun!

Oh man, this thing is a TACK DRIVER! I normally wouldn't take a shot that far away, but every time I got closer it would waddle away and I finally got tired of chasing it around and took a chance. Got it just at the base of the skull.

Just gotta learn to take what they give you.....one of the greatest lessons of hunting for me.

Favorite Scrapyard blade anyone?

SS4 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

The ScrapMax Shorty may end up getting more use...but the SS4 holds a special place in my heart. It stays on my Ruck as of late.

Mingo is a National Wildlife Refuge in Southeast Missouri about 20 miles from here. Just type in Mingo NWR and it should come up.

here ya go

http://www.fws.gov/refuge/mingo/

at least it's a start. Most of the places that list it don;t have all that good a pictorial overview of it.
