Nope but they are not uncommon during the spring here. They lay egss on the horses. You would see little yellow eggs usualy on the legs. I used to remove them with a pumic stone. They leave a heack of a sore and it takes w hile to get rid of them one they get into a horses hide. Thye can get into people but I think you would have to let it grow on purpose or have it be in a spot where you couldn't see it to get established.
