The mossy coating is made up of at least three different colors if not more. All I can guess is that when the other colors were put on top of the base coat,when they were baked on they had such a smooth surface (because of the main covering coat) that they just became very slick feeling. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

YUP, that is why the S5 With the Mossy blade color finish will micrometer out thicker than the others.

I think that the gray finish is the thinnest, but don't quote me on that.

The process is very similar (if not the same) as powder coating anything else. The coating is a dry powder that is sprayed on. The product being coated has one electrical charge, the powder the opposite, making them stick together and then when it is baked, the powder is just basically turned into a liquid and adheres to the coated material.
