Had a deputy get shot and killed in a neighboring county last night, made for a bad night all around.

Man, Y'all have had a bad run of things the last couple weeks Todd.

OK, at GD's request I'm gonna tell ya about my run-in with a foreign head of states BRAT son.

Thank God this wasn't one of ours, but it still hurts.

Ok spill it Skunk what happened?

We are losing to many. We lost a city officer on Tuesday. Motor officer chasing down a speeder got t-boned on his bike and stuck under the vehicle. He was running lights and siren and some inattentive jerk pulls out of a side street and killed him.

Dang.

I know it's a dangerous profession, but it hits home from time to time just how dangerous it really is.

I have lost far to many friends. I look back over the past 19 years and think how lucky I have been so many times.

We haven't lost one in our department that was an On Duty death in years. Lost an off duty officer a couple years ago fighting fire, and had one get shot on my shift a couple years ago. He made it, but he'll never walk again.

I was stationed at Reece AFB (Lubbock TX) from 1977-1980. Don't remember the EXACT time but during that period (Before the Shaw of Iran was thrown out) He sent his son Reza Palavi there for pilots training.

The kid was a spoiled brat, with TWO capital B's! (B can also stand for another word).

Anyway I dealt with him a lot because he had to come to our section to file his flight plans. I won't get into all the garbage we had to put up with (Remember the Capital B)!

Anyway one day As I was getting off work I had just stepped off the sidewalk to go to my car when the little Pr..K came by burning rugger in his Sports Car Jaguar. I was halfway across when I saw him zooming to me (the State department had instructed all concerned that this Brat would not be arrested/detained FOR ANYTHING! (And he wasn't he stabbed a guy and just calmly walked out of the restaurant and went to his submachine gun toting guarded home off base). Anyway, I had to jump backwards as far as I could as he zoomed by and actually ran over some papers I was carrying.

Well I was a lot younger and more hot headed at that time and kinda got peeved. I ran to my car and took off. I finally found him at the base grocery store and went inside Screaming "Where is that little foreign Son of an un married mother. I saw him down an Isle and took toward him. A Secret Service agent heard my screaming and started walking in my direction, I kinda not to gently bumped into him and TRIED to get around him and actually got just past him when he spun me around and spoke to me and started reaching under his jacket telling me to stop and that I KNEW that he (the agent) couldn't let anything happen to Cadet Palavi. Well I started arguing with the agent and he said if I didn't stop right then I KNEW what would happen. The Brat heard/saw all this, looked at me, shrugged and kept on shopping. Well this just made me madder than ever and I was about ready to try the Agent when another agent that I knew (and had saw the brat almost run me down) grabbed me and well, lets just say told the other guy he had this and escorted me outside (man those guys know how to make you do what they want).

Anyway even longer story short after he got me outside and explained to me I either dropped it and left RIGHT THEN or suffer the consequences and TOLD me what would happen to me. I left.

It wasn't to long after this incident that the Shaw was deposed and the Brat left.

So much for my being an IDIOT.


Oh and I forgot to say that I watched the Brat literally shove an agent through a glass door because the agent didn't move out of his way quickly enough. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
