Well you'll be around for a while so we won't have to worry about that anytime soon.

Hey you never know, I may take a Sabbatical. Sort of get in contact with my inner self and throw the bums out! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Careful what you wish for.

You're right, I would probably go crazy without "The voices" keeping me company.

Matter of fact, I have the newest issue of each magazine in front of me as we type.

Here's a question. Every hear of Zombie Tools?

Who, THESE guys. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

http://zombietools.net/
Any idea about the quality of their products or are they just trying to make a quick buck off the zombie thing?

Well from the writeup they might be ok, and it is a long established steel. A lot depends on how they do their heat treat, but I just can't believe they would stand up to anything that Dan and Jerry puts out.

Once I find something I like, I tend to get kind of fanatical about it.

But for something that Dan or Jerry doesn't put out, they might be worth a try. Like I said though, I just have a hard time getting past those aluminum slab handles wrapped in leather. I don't know if I would trust them to stay attached.

Wasn't even trying to compare them against the best. My son saw the issue and was interested in getting one. Didn't want him to waist his money as he did in the past buying junk blades.

Got him hooked on Bussekin at this point. His first was an R9 that he had to have after seeing mine. In fact he got a couple from the ganza.

Oh, I'm sure they would be ok, but like you said IF I had one I don't think I could EVER stop comparing it to the Busse Boys.

One of my favorite blades is a handmade knife from the Philippines I bought way back in the mid 70's. It is leaf spring steel and has NO heat treat besides the original one when it was made into a spring. In other words it is soft. I have actually sharpened it on a concrete wall before. But I have used that thing for more stuff than any other knife I have ever has.
I'll find a pic and put it up.

It cost me $2.50. The sheath cost me $25.00 in Texas in 1979.

Nice pic. Maybe you should send that to Dan for the FDM.

Now, I'm no expert knife critic, but a lot of times knives (swords too) that look really "Cool" aren't all that comfortable to use, at least the few I've bought weer that way for me. Course the ones I got were cheap.
