I had thought about that. I saw one that Norcal did that looked fantastic.

By the way, have you found your Desert Dog Father yet?

i wouldnt say he reg failed......... the edge might have a little.

While I wouldn't say that SR-101 is prone to chipping by any means.....it certainly is possible under the right conditions. SR-77 probably would have faired better here but either way you're making a trade off of toughness vs edge holding.
Very true. I had my Dog Father and B-11 with me too and did just as much chopping with them. I was able to strop those edges out. I guess it's a matter of preference, but I'd rather a steel that needs to be sharpened more frequently that is less prone to chipping. SR-101 is a fantastic steel, but I prefer SR-77 (and INFI of course) to 101 on choppers.

I agree.....SR-101 on 5" and less

SR-77 or INFI on 5" and up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I know it will but the FDM needs that special touch that is INFI.....

I'd be willing to pay more for it, but I wouldn't complain if it wasn't INFI. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Very nice! I can guess which. I think I sent you an email a while ago about the DDF, but I think plans have changed.
