I think that if I slice the grapefruit with another knife and put the slices on both sides of a blade I'll get a 'pattern' in the patina

Tomatoes work well also, at least they do on Elmax steel. what change the blade color

I've been cutting all kinds of fruit and veggies with a 1084 blade... after some time the ground part is almost uniform black
