Coyotebc, If I may ask, how do you use the tomahawk(s) you carry? I assume as an axe/utility tool, but I'm not familiar with them. Nobody overhere is, actually...

Actually I really would like the blade profile for the 13 inch FDM to be the shape of my Negrito Hunting bolo. THAT would make for a GREAT Zombie Whacker!

I have the regulator as well. It seems to get the most carry time when i'm hiking in the mountains. I'm have been in BC for only a couple years and I still think of bears when I am out hiking. When tenting in grizzly country I sleep with a sharp knife close by, usually my case western bowie If need be I can cut my way out of the tent quickly If Mr. Grizzly wants to eat this canadian burrito the least I can do is remove the stay fresh wrapper

Just think of it as a light hatchet, I don't use them much other then for fun I do carry a cold Steel norsehawk in my death bag for splitting the pelvis on moose and deer

I usually use an axe when camping or a hatchet since i'm new to BC.. I have heard that a mid sized (6") knife and axe is what is commonly carried here. I can see carrying an axe for winter hiking where keeping warm/dry is required. But do you think a large (8-11) survival knife is good enough for summer outings?
