Hey JJ what is the history behind the Marines using the phrase oorah

I don't know. Just did a search and there is no solid history of it. Here is my favorite explanation from Wikipedia.

"The term may have been derived from the Turkish phrase "vur ha!" translated as "strike!" or "kill them all!", which was used as a battle cry at the Ottoman Empire army and adopted as a Russian battlecry "Urrah!"

Not sure how true that is, but it sounds cool.

It can be used in many ways.

"Marine, go fix that truck."
"Oorah."

"Lets go kill the bad guys, oorah?"
"Oorah!"

Oorah, meaning hello. Two Marines passing each other. "Oorah." "oorah"

Excited, "Oorah!"

The list goes on.

Walmart here does have guns, but just hunting rifle and shotguns.

That was at one of the many many gunshops in town, Get Some Guns and Ammo.

Yes, the Army says Hooah, and it has the same multiple meaning as the Marine Cops' Oohrah.

The German firing the weapon in the pic is an officer in the German infantry. He definitely shocked the gunshop employees where he fired like the professional killer he is. They didn't know he was military and figured it was his first time firing.

Then, maybe he was at Baumholder, Panzer Kasern, Grafenwoehr (pronounced: graffen veer) or Hohenfells.
